Teens Nabbed for String of Car Break-Ins

Police recover stolen iPods, cigarettes, cell phone chargers and money.

nabbed five, local teens on Woolsey Avenue Monday who are allegedly responsible for a string of recent car break-ins, according to Lt. Thomas Fitzpatrick.

This follows numerous reports of property stolen from cars parked unattended around the city in December, he said.

The teens were taken into custody after they were caught running from another such larceny, said Lt. Fitzpatrick. At the time of apprehension, police recovered stolen iPods, cigarettes, cell phone chargers and money.

Over the past three weeks, police say items such as portable GPS units, iPods, money, laptops and sunglasses were being plucked out of cars in the middle of the night.

The investigation continues as cops try to recover more property.

Police advise residents to keep their car doors locked overnight and not leave anything of value in plain sight.
