Wake Held for Officer Killed in Crash

Dozens of Suffolk County Police attended viewing in Glen Cove for Patrick Curley, a Glen Cove native.

Dozens of fellow officers, friends and family members attended a private viewing Monday for Patrick Curley, the Suffolk County Police officer who died in a car crash Friday.

Cruisers and other police vehicles lit up Glen Street in front of McLaughlin Kramer Megiel Funeral Home Monday evening as officers lined up two-by-two to file in and pay respects.

Curley, a Huntington resident, was killed when the SUV he was driving collided with the rear of a garbage truck backing out of a business onto Rt. 25 at 3:33 a.m. Friday. He was 40 years old.

A funeral service is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Church in Glen Cove.

Curley is survived by his wife, Emily; daughter Sophia Jane; mother Mary Ann; and three siblings: Brendan, Katherine and Elizabeth Myers.
