Water Pipe Ruptures at Sunrise Senior Living

Water damage on three floors, some residents relocated.

City of Glen Cove officials responded to a broken water pipe at the Sunrise Senior Living center at 39 Forest Avenue on Friday night.

The ruptured pipe occurred at 6:35 p.m. and caused significant water damage to the first, second and third floors, according to the Glen Cove EMS Facebook page. No injuries were reported and affected residents were moved to a safe location in the lobby. The building does have power and heat.

Glen Cove EMS, Fire Department, Police Department, Water Department, Building Department, DPW and Mayor Reginald Spinello responded to the scene.
