Woman Succumbs to Accident Injuries
Glen Cove resident was struck near her apartment on Feb. 23.
The pedestrian struck by a car on Glen Cove Avenue on Feb. 23 died the next day of her injuries, according to police.
Cathleen Singleton, 54, suffered massive injuries to her lower extremities and extensive bleeding after she was hit by a car traveling southbound as she tried to cross the street, police said.
Emergency responders found her lying on the ground, barely breathing shortly after 6:30 p.m., police said.

The driver of the vehicle, a 53-year-old Bayville man, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. He was not issued any summons.
Police said it appeared that Singleton had walked out in front of the car and was struck.

She underwent immediate surgery but died of her injuries on Friday.
