Worker Hurt in Chainsaw Accident

Victim hospitalized after Friday afternoon incident at Nassau Country Club.

A man was hospitalized Friday after a chainsaw he was using to cut tree stumps at Nassau Country Club accidentally cut his foot, according to Glen Cove EMS.

An ambulance was dispatched to the property at 1:24 p.m.

The worker, who was in his twenties, was using the chainsaw when it "kicked back at him," said Glen Cove EMS Chief Matt Venturino.

The man suffered a severe laceration to his right foot. He was stabilized at the scene ad transported to the trauma center at Winthrop University Hospital.
