Candidate Profile: Louis Imbroto

A look at the Republican nominee for the state Assembly's thirteenth district.

Name: Louis Imbroto

Hometown: Plainview

Party: Republican

Bio: Imbroto, 28, is looking to unseat Democrat Charles Lavine, who has served as the thirteenth district's representative since 2005 and won his last two reelection races handily. 

Imbroto is a founding member of the Action Long Island Young Adult Alliance and is chair of the organization's transportation and government relations. He is also a co-chair of the Nassau County Youth Cabinet.

He has said he opposed the MTA tax, and strongly opposes raising taxes on Long Islanders in general.

Imbroto currently works as a manager of policy and government affairs for the Long Island Contractors’ Association.

Education: Bachelor of Arts Degree in political science and philosophy from Fordham University, Juris Degree from Brooklyn Law School.
