Cruisin' Begins Friday in the Town of Oyster Bay

Town's popular Classic Car Cruise Nights to begin at Massapequa LIRR station.

Once again, summer Fridays in Massapequa will resemble something out of "American Graffiti."

The Town of Oyster Bay kicks off their annual from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The will become a haven for hot rods and muscle cars. You might also see historic models from Henry Ford's assembly line.

And best of all, it's free, at least for the public.

“The events will benefit community food banks, as each participant is required to bring two cans of food to register their car to be on display," said Town Councilman Joe Muscarella.

The town gives the donations to various local organizations and donations from the public are also welcomed.

Vintage car owners must also have valid registration and plates and they must register beginning at 6:15 p.m.

The trip back in time will take place every Friday night until August 20. For more information, call the Town of Oyster Bay Department of Parks at 433-7465, ext. 227.
