Free Concerts Continue Through January

Town sponsors three more "Distinguished Artists" shows this month.

The Town of Oyster Bay's "Distinguished Artists" series continues through January with three upcoming performances at area libraries.

The concerts "represent an opportunity for residents to enjoy free musical performances, held throughout the year at local libraries,” said Town Councilman Chris Coschignano.

  • Jan. 20, at 2 p.m.; Hicksville Public Library, 169 Jerusalem Ave.; The Tangletown Trio will present an afternoon of “wine, women and song,” featuring a cabaret of American Jazz Standards and Musical Theater.
  • Jan. 26, at 8 p.m.; Syosset Public Library, 225 South Oyster Bay Road; Vocalist Annie Kozuch and pianist Frank Ponzio present residents with an opportunity to sample ‘bossa nova and music from Mexico.’
  • Jan. 27, at 2 p.m.; Bethpage Public Library, 47 Powell Ave.; Dean Karahalis and the New York Brass Choir present an afternoon of ‘Bach to Broadway.’

The “Distinguished Artists” concert series is sponsored by the Cultural and Performing Arts (CAPA) Division of the Town of Oyster Bay’s Department of Community & Youth Services.

Anyone interested in obtaining a schedule of free concerts should call 797-7900.

The schedule is available on the town's website here.
