Glen Cove Cancels Trash Pickup, Opens Warming Center

Emergency information from the City of Glen Cove as Snowstorm Janus slams LI.

The City of Glen Cove is readying for Snowstorm Janus, expected to drop up to 15 inches of snow on Long Island by Wednesday. The following emergency information was released by the City Tuesday afternoon. 

Warming Center: The Glen Cove Senior Center will be open as a warming center as of 5 p.m. this evening.

Parking: To ensure your safety and that of our first responders and public works crews, please park your car ONLY on the ODD-numbered side of the street if you do not have a driveway. If there’s no other alternative for parking your car, you may park your car in the municipal parking lots, space permitting.

Trash and Recyclables: Normal Tuesday collection of trash and recyclables that was moved to Wednesday because of the holiday has been canceled. The pickup of yard waste and corrugated paper normally on Wednesday is canceled. The Tuesday pickup of trash will be this Friday however NO Recyclables will be picked up on Friday.
