Now that we are beginning to get back to normal in our city, I see the city council is voting a bond issue to pay retiring city employees the benefits. Why don't they just reopen the contracts and renegotiate them. First if you have vacation time and you do not use it, then lose it. Also with overtime it might work to hire more people at regular wages the pay time and half. If do not start to be fiscally PRUDENT then we may as well just turn our paychecks into the city. The taxes in Glen Cove do not reflect us receiving the benefits we are paying for and never have. We just are digging our children a bigger hole. .
