Homeowners Cleanup is Saturday in Town of Oyster Bay

The program provides residents the chance to rid their homes of unwanted, non-hazardous refuse.

Town of Oyster Bay residents can take part in the second homeowners cleanup programs of the year on Saturday, from 8:30 a.m.- 4 p.m. at the town’s Solid Waste Disposal Complex, located at 101 Bethpage-Sweet Hollow Road, Old Bethpage.

The program provides residents the chance to rid their homes of unwanted, non-hazardous refuse.

Proof of district residency must be shown. If you plan to bring any boats or trailers, proof of ownership must be provided and signed over to the Town. The boats must be drained of all oil, gas and other fluids, and all batteries must be removed.

Bushes, tree limbs, fence posts and similar items will be accepted as is and need not be broken into smaller pieces. Used tires, large metal items in excess of four feet, clean fill, clean broken concrete, and boats and boat trailers will also be accepted. Passenger cars, vans, pickup trucks and small trailers are admitted to the program. Six-wheel or larger vehicles are not permitted.

Additional Homeowners Cleanup dates are: Saturday, June 7; Saturday, July 12; Saturday, August 9; Saturday, September 13; Saturday, October 25; and Sunday, November 16. Questions? Call 677-5943.
