John DiMascio Launches 2013 Campaign

Friends of John DiMascio recently hosted more than 100 supporters at the Swan Club, as DiMascio kicked off his 2013 campaign for a seat on the Nassau County Legislature.

Dimascio has been nominated by the Republican, Conservative and Independence Parties as their candidate for the Nassau County Legislature, 11th Legislative District.

The Swan Club event, organizers say, included backers from all political affiliations, from across the 11th Legislative District, which includes Sands Point, Port Washington, Roslyn, Roslyn Harbor, Greenvale, Glen Head, Glenwood Landing, Sea Cliff and Glen Cove. 

DiMascio is a Vietnam veteran and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and the Vietnam Veterans of America, according to a press release.  An attorney and former court officer, DiMascio sits on the Board of Directors of the North Shore Sheltering Program, serves as a pro bono attorney for the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and has been deemed "Top Legal Eagle" by Long Island Pulse Magazine. DiMascio has received endorsements of the Fraternal Order of Court Officers of New York State and the Court Officers Benevolent Association of Nassau County, according to a press release.

At his campaign launch, After a welcoming speech by John Canning of Sea Cliff and an introduction by Paul Meli of Glen Cove, DiMascio spoke to the crowd, saying that he is committed to no tax-increases, efficient government, and encouraging local business and economic development.

DiMascio will have a grand opening event for his new Glen Cove campaign headquarters at 149 Glen Street, Glen Cove on Thursday at 7 p.m. Organizers say all are welcome.
