The Kiwanis Club – along with the Glen Cove School district – have collaborated over the last three years to create “Pennies for Peds”  – a fundraiser for the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Foundation, to assist in its efforts to support local Children’s Hospital at  North Shore University Hospital Manhasset.

“Pennies for Peds” kicked off in mid-January this year, when water jug size jars were distributed throughout stores and the school buildings for 8-9 weeks. During this time, students, staff and the general public donated loose change into these jars in an effort to raise enough money to receive a kit.

The organization raised $1,000 to be donated to the KPTC Foundation. Kits contain a Pediatric Immobilization Board, Child BVM Resuscitators, Disposable face masks, Phygmomanometers (Blood Pressure Cuffs), Stethoscope, epipen pens, blankets and more.
