Lattingtown's 91-Year-Old Mayor Re-Elected

Voter turnout strong, village says.

Clarence Michalis, 91, Lattingtown’s incumbent mayor, defeated Nicholas DellaFera, his 23-year-old challenger in Tuesday’s village election.

Michalis, who has held office for some 44 years, received 376 votes to DellaFera’s 87. Tuesday’s race saw a big turnout – normally only about 50 residents turn out to vote, according to the village.

Trustees Lucie Bard and James Duryea were also re-elected, as was Judge Eugene Souther. These races were uncontested.
