Lavine Attends Medical Marijuana Hearing

Glen Cove Assemblyman heard testimony on bill that seeks to legalize medical marijuana in New York State.

Assemb. Charles Lavine, D-Glen Cove, joined other local State Assembly members to hear testimony on a bill proposing the legalization of medical marijuana in New York State at a public hearing Wednesday in Mineola.

The proposed Compassionate Care Act would create one of the nation’s most tightly regulated medical marijuana programs, according to the Drug Policy Alliance, allowing seriously ill patients access to a small amount of marijuana under the supervision of their healthcare provider.
