1. The City Council is holding a public hearing in the main chambers of at 7:30 p.m. On the agenda: Mayor Ralph Suozzi's proposed $46.5 million spending plan. Stay tuned for the full agenda at 9 a.m.

2. Today at the : Toddler Storytime for ages 2 1/2-3 will be held in the Children's Room at 10:30 a.m. In this half-hour program, young children get a chance to listen to books, interact with flannel board stories, sing and dance to music and create simple craft. Registration is required: 516-676-2130. It's also Movie Night. The Tempest (2007) will be shown in the Community Room at 6 p.m. This PG-rated comedy is loosely based on the Shakespearean play, "The Tempest.

3. Glen Cove Weather Update: Expect mostly cloudy skies with a high of 72.

4. The at the is featuring works by local artist Marina Falkov this month. Stay tuned for a video on her current showcase. The center is also hosting Caribbean Casino Night on Saturday, Oct. 15, beginning at 7 p.m. There will be refreshments, live music, prizes and raffles. 5. The James Norton Council recently sponsored their Fall Blood Drive. The New York Blood Services collected 85 pints of blood. supplied food to those who donated, and the Columbiettes provided home baked cookies and cakes. George Kranz would like to thank all who supported the endeavor. Also at this location: The fourth and final will be held Thursday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m.
