Officials Attend Polar Bear Plunge Fundraiser

Event benefits cerebral palsy organization.

The United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. (UCPN) held its 9th annual “Polar Bear Plunge” benefit fundraiser recently at Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Park, Beach and Marina in Oyster Bay.

Elected officials were on-hand for the event. Supervisor John Venditto has been honorary co-chair of the event since its first year.

"An independent, not-for-profit health agency, UCPN endeavors to improve the quality of life for people with cerebral palsy and others with severe disabilities and multiple service needs,” said a statement from Venditto. “The organization, which was founded in 1948, also seeks to prevent cerebral palsy and minimize its effects.”
