Glen Cove's school district approved a budget Monday that includes a tax levy increase of 2 percent, sticking to a state cap that actually allows a higher increase based on a complicated formula.
Board members have criticized the state for representing the number as solid while giving districts enough room to raise their levies considerably. Trustees worried how the public would react in the voting booths to an increase higher than the number put out by Albany.
The budget is up for a vote on May 15. How do you feel about the board's decision?
