Primary Day: Your Guide to Who's Running for What

Contested primaries on tap Tuesday for both Congressional seats that cover Glen Cove.

While the Democratic primary for attorney general, featuring a run by Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice, has garnered most of the attention so far this election season, there are also a couple of contested primaries Tuesday in congressional districts that cover Glen Cove.

Residents will choose between long-time Congressman Peter King, the ranking member of the Committee of Homeland Security, and Robert Previdi in the Republican primary for the House of Representatives seat in the 3rd Congressional District.

King has defeated Previdi, a Manhasset resident who teaches American history and English, in several previous primaries, including in 2008 by a vote of 6,847-897. The winner of the Republican primary will face Merokean Howard Kudler in the general election.
