RECON Lax Commended at Supervisor's Cup

Extra Town Clerk office hours; reminders for this week in Town of Oyster Bay.

The RECON Lacrosse team was officially recognized by the Town of Oyster Bay for their dedication to helping others. The TOBAY-based travel lacrosse team participated in the 2012 Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor's Cup Tournament to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

In addition to raising funds for the Juvenile Diabetes and Leukemia & Lymphoma Societies, the team plays in honor of members of the US Military. Recon Coach Dave Jacobs' brother is a captain in the US Army Rangers.

"Recon Lacrosse deserves a special commendation for taking on a worthy cause, putting character above competition, and representing the very ideals this nation was founded upon," said TOBAY Town Clerk Steve Labriola, who presented them with their commendation.
