Registration Begins for Cultural and Performing Arts Workshops

Oyster Bay to offer wide range of arts and crafts classes for all age groups in the fall.

A wide range of cultural and performing arts workshops are going to be available to the community this fall.

The Town of Oyster Bay is sponsoring a series of workshops from October through December for residents who want to try new things or freshen up old skills.

“I encourage all of our residents to take advantage of some of these great workshops, to reawaken old skills, as well as expand horizons and hone new skills," said Councilman Joe Pinto. "In addition to offering separate workshops for both children and adults, the town offers 'Children and Caregiver' workshops that families can enjoy together.”

The program is offered by the town's Cultural and Performing Arts (CAPA) division of the Department of Community and Youth Services. The fees for the courses range from modest costs for young people to less than $100 for certain nine-week programs.

Workshop highlights include total body sculpt, digital photography classes, zumba fitness, and numerous crafts courses. Childrens' workshops include voice lessons (ages 8-11), zumbatomic (ages 9-12), and mad science (grades K-6.)
