Small Business Counselor Comes to Town Hall South

Tobay partnering with Farmingdale State College business center to aid small business owners' recovery.

The Town of Oyster Bay will have a special counselor on-site at Town Hall South to assist small business owners with their needs in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, according to the Town.

The assistance is provided through a partnership with the New York State Small Business Development Center at Farmingdale State College.

“Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy,” Supervisor John Venditto said. “The Town of Oyster Bay has been, and will continue to do, everything within its power to help our residents in this time of need. This partnership with the NYS Small Business Development Center is just one more example of how we are taking pro-active steps to help residents in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. It is my hope that these face-to-face meetings with representatives from the SBDC will help expedite the process.”

The counselor will provide assistance with damage documentation, paperwork preparation, and reaching out to various government agencies about United States Small Business Administration Disaster Loans.

Reminders for the week:

  • Veterans Day is being observed Monday; Sanitation and recycling collections moved to Tuesday.
  • Tuesday's recycling and sanitation collections moved to Wednesday.

I think the best course of action would be to contact any board member (their emails are listed) andRead More see what he or she has to say about it. That's one source that I would find reliable on this.
