Temps in the City to Hit Upper 90s

Hot and humid weather predicted for Glen Cove until late Saturday evening.

The scorching heat of July is continuing in Glen Cove, with weather authorities predicting that temperatures will reach a high of 98 degrees by late Saturday afternoon.

As a result, the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory in the city and it will remain in effect until 9 p.m. According to the alert, the city will also get hit with high humidity and a heat index ranging from 100 to 104 degrees.

While the city does not have neighborhood pools, Mayor Ralph Suozzi said residents should utilize the city's beaches to help beat the heat. City officials also encourage residents to drink plenty of fluids and stay in air-conditioned rooms whenever possible.
