Town Of Oyster Bay Hiring Lifeguards

The Town of Oyster Bay is looking to hire lifeguards this summer.  

The job has its perks. As Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto points out on the town's website, summer lifeguards have a sense of pride and also work in beautiful settings, whether at a beach or pool. 

Still, there are challenges.

“Being a lifeguard is no easy task, however, and is meant for those who are experienced swimmers and up for the challenge of protecting residential swimmers and beach attendees,” Venditto said.

Interested applicants must possess a current Nassau County Department of Health Lifeguard Certification Card and a current CPR/AED Certification Card. Qualified applicants can apply in person at the Town of Oyster Bay Parks Department Human Resources Office, in Town Hall South (977 Hicksville Road, Massapequa).

“Having a summer job as a lifeguard is a rewarding and exciting opportunity,” Venditto said. “They provide an invaluable service to the community. Serving as a lifeguard also helps build confidence, self-esteem, and friendships. It’s a great way to spend a summer.”
