The Town of Oyster Bay's partnership with the Toys for Tots program received "more donations than ever before" since it started four years ago, according to the Town.
The U.S. Marine Corps-sponsored program was run with the help of Major Chuck Kilbride. It seeks new, unwrapped toys to be delivered to children of less fortunate families.
Donations, including a stuffed Christmas bear several times the size of any toddler who might receive it, were collected at five different Town facilities.
Reminders for the week:
- Extended hours at all Town ice rinks Sunday and Monday.
- Town Hall closes at 12:30 p.m. Monday for Christmas Eve.
- Tuesday sanitation and recycling collections will be made Wednesday.
