Voter Guide 2010: Glen Cove District Court Candidates

A run-down of the Nov. 2 Election Day Judge candidates.

Residents will cast their ballots on Tuesday and vote for Nassau County District Court–Fourth District and Nassau County Family Court Judges to serve the Glen Cove area for the next five-year term.

Nassau County District Court–Fourth District covers Glen Cove and Oyster Bay. 

Here are the candidates for the 2010 Election Day on Nov. 2.

Nassau County District Court Candidates:

– Joseph M. Terino graduated from Fordham University with his B.S. in Business Administration in 1991 and his J.D. in 1995. He was admitted to the Bar in 1996. He began his career in public service with the Nassau County District Attorney's Office serving as an Assistant District Attorney until 2001. He is currently a private practitioner at The Law Offices of Joseph Terino.

– Hon. Margaret C. Reilly is the current District Court and has been serving for over 12 years. She graduated with her B.A. from Hamilton College in 1985 and received her J.D. from St. John's University School of Law in 1988. She was admitted to the bar in 1988. She worked as a trial attorney in a private practice before taking the bench. She is the mother of two children, ages five and nine.

Family Court Candidates:

D – Adam Small graduated from Stony Brook University in 1992 with B.S. and in 1998, he received his J.D. from SUNY Buffalo Law School. He was admitted to both New York and Connecticut Bar in 1999. He began his legal career at the Nassau County Legal Aid Society. Upon completion of his tenure, he began working as a staff attorney for the Suffolk County Coalition against Domestic Violence. He is currently running his own private practice in Merrick, NY.

– Merik R. Aaron is a former Nassau County Family Court Judge and Law Guardian. He is also a certified guidance counselor and has worked as both an assistant principal and professor. Aaron received his B.A. from Long Island University in 1969 and his M.S. in 1971. He also received his Prof. Diploma in 1974 from Hofstra University, his doctorate in Educational Administration in 1982 from Nova Southeastern University and his J.D. in 1992 from Tauro Law Center. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1994. He is now a prosecutor for the Town of Hempstead, Village Attorney for Hewlett Harbor and runs a private practice in Family Law.
