Glen Cove High School recently hosted its first Career Workshop Day. The series of workshops, which were organized by the school's Guidance Department, were divided into several different areas that covered a wide-range of career-oriented topics.
Representatives from Savannah College of Art & Design, SUNY Maritime and Briarcliff College showcased some of their schools' scholastic offerings, and shared with students information on curricula. The representatives also informed the students about what they could expect during their first year in college.
Frank Casale, CEO of Outsourcing Institute, also gave students plenty of good advice during his workshop, which provided suggestions about how to interview with prospective employers and how students can prepare themselves for the workforce.

Salvatore Bellafiore, the district's guidance chairperson, said the event gave the students, "a taste of the world of work [and] a prelude to the college experience."
