Celebrating the Holiday Season with Song and Service

Connolly Elementary School hold concert for parents and seniors.

Connolly Elementary School conducted a series of grade-level winter concerts to entertain parents and get everyone in the holiday spirit prior to the long break.

Pictured are scenes from the school’s third- and fourth-grade winter concert, highlighted by a brief third-grade musical production of the Broadway hit “Newsies,” directed by JoAnn Criblez. Additionally, James Guarini joined Ms. Criblez in directing the fourth-grade orchestra on traditional holiday pieces while Chorale Director Sandra Vigliotti led the fourth-grade chorus in a few fun songs that wrapped up with the finale “The Christmas Tree Feud.”

Ms. Vigliotti also brought the Connolly School K Kids service club to the Glen Cove Senior Center, as 45 fifth-grade members serenaded the senior citizens with holiday music and led an intergenerational sing-a-long of seasonal favorites. The seniors treated the K Kids to a delicious dessert to thank them for thinking of them this holiday season (also pictured).

Every school in the district held a winter concert/celebration in December to thank the parents and demonstrate the wonderful musical and theatrical talents of the children of Glen Cove.
