At their aunt's encouragement, Cassandra and Matthew Nochowitz went shopping for charity, buying enough school supplies to fill four bookbags for the 's back-to-school-supplies drive.
That's the kind of generosity that makes a difference for children in the community who are in need, the agency said.
Items needed include:
- Backpacks (no wheels)
- Thick and thin markers
- Crayons
- 3-holed zippered pencil cases
- Loose-leaf paper
- Spiral notebooks
- Index cards
- Folders
- Marble notebooks
- Glue sticks
- Elmer's glue
- Post-its
Donations can be dropped off at the , the or . Monetary donations are also accepted. Checks can be made out to "Friends of the Glen Cove Youth Board" and mailed to 128B Glen Street, Glen Cove, N.Y. 11542.
All proceeds are used to buy school supplies.
