Deasy PTA Shopping Expo Friday

Vendors will include Pampered Chef, Avon, Tupperware, Discovery Toys.

will hold its second shopping expo on Friday, March 2 to raise money for the school and its Parent Teacher Association.

"This idea came to us as a way to not only raise money for thePTA but also as way to give parents and their friends a fun way to shop all their favorites in one place, and give local direct sales representatives business,” said PTA president Janice LaRocca in a press release on the event.

The school touted the expo's success last year.

"Deasy PTA fundraises for many events for our pre-K though second-graders, including cultural arts programs, outreach, year-end picnics, graduations and scholarships," LaRocca said. "We often look for new and exciting ways to fundraise where people are already willing to spend their money on quality items."

A portion of the money raised will go directly to the PTA while the rest will go the the school itself.

Some of the items that will be showcased include handmade hair accessories, doll clothes, racecars, handbags and jewelry created by local artists.

The event will be held in the school's all-purpose room Friday from 6-10 p.m.

The release noted that there is no ramp access to the event due to "building restrictions."
