Glen Cove Seniors Treated to An Afternoon of Jazz

Robert M. Finley Middle School students entertain city's senior citizen community at special concert.

Students at Robert M. Finley Middle School gave Glen Cove senior citizens a little midday musical entertainment on Monday as they presented An Afternoon of Jazz.

The concert featured a special guest performance by resident Marty Napoleon, a longtime musician who is best known for replacing pianist Earl Hines in Louis Armstrong's band as well as performing with music legends Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa and Benny Goodman.

In addition to several other songs, the school's jazz band performed Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" along with Napoleon, who was the pianist on the original recording.
