Glen Cove Softball Trio College Bound

Three of Glen Cove High School's top players announced their plans to take their talents to the next level.

Three members of the Glen Cove High School varsity softball team will be flexing their skills for their future alma maters next year, the district announced.

Pitcher Carina Zupa, centerfielder Kayla Morrissey and shortstop Brianna Leon will all continue their game along with their education.

Zupa will attend Sacred Heart University on a full academic and athletic scholarship. Morrissey received a scholarship to attend Queens College, and Leon has plans to attend SUNY Purchase.

Zupa and Leon were recently recognized for being among the top 20 academically ranked students of their senior class. Zupa ranked eleventh; Leon ranked seventeenth.
