Spinello Visits Glen Cove CAUSE Students

Members of the Glen Cove High School CAUSE (Community Action Using Student Empowerment) class recently invited Mayor Reginald Spinello to visit.

The work of this group of civic-minded students extends beyond the classroom. Glen Cove High School also offers a CAUSE Club – an offshoot of the class, according to the school’s website – that provides students the opportunity to participate, organize, or both, various fundraisers and a talent show. The money raised is typically donated at the end of the year to Ronald McDonald House or another nonprofit organization that has "touched their hearts through research or discussion," the website says.

"This is a very impressive group of students,” Spinello said. “Their knowledge of local government, concern for the future of our City and the environment left me with real sense of pride in the youth of Glen Cove.”
