Students Head back to School in Glen Cove

Local kids kick off the 2010-2011 school year at area schools on Tuesday.

Local kids began a new school year in the Glen Cove City School District on Tuesday.

Students were greeted by their principals, teachers and friends at Deasy, Gribbin, Connolly, and Landing Elementary Schools.

While most of the first-day activities focused on getting students acquainted with their teachers and new classmates, new Deasy Principal Nomi Rosen and the PTA met with parents of kindergartners to help them with the transition into a full-day schedule of school.
