Tell Us: Voter Turnout

Why do you think it was so low?

At Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting at Glen Cove High School where the election results were confirmed, Trustee David Huggins noted that “less than 10 percent of Glen Cove voted.”

“Having less than 1,600 votes in a community of 16,000 – that’s pure apathy and unacceptable,” he said. “If people want change they need to come out and vote “yes” or “no.”

Which leads to the question: why did this election see such low turnout? Tell us in the comments.
