Winter Recess Guide 2012

A list of fun activities throughout the week for kids on break.

Monday

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. "Peace, Love and Pottery" at Clay Nation, ages 5 and up. $35 per head, or $125 for the whole week featuring a different craft each day.

Tuesday

10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Native American Game Day at Garvies Point Museum, featuring games of different tribes from all over the country. General admission: adults $3, children 5-12 $2. Includes movie, "Little Bear," showing at 11, 2 and 3 o'clock.

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. "Dye-ing to Tie" at Clay Nation.

Wednesday

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. "Pet Pourri" at Clay Nation.

12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Make your own arrowhead or papoose at Garvies Point Museum. General admission plus $3 craft fee. Movie: "Paddle to the Sea."

Thursday

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. "Mosaic Madness" at Clay Nation.

12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Pottery class at Garvies Point Museum with $5 craft fee. Movie: "Indian Pottery of San Ildefanso."

2 p.m. - 3 p.m. Free craft Day at Glen Cove Public Library, ages K and up.

Friday

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. "Decoupage Divas" at Clay Nation.

11, 2 and 3 p.m. Garvies Point Museum movie: "The Man Who Planted Trees," about a man who replanted half of France after World War II.

2 p.m. Glen Cove Public Library movie: "Lady and the Tramp," ages 4 and up, no registration required.
