Big Red Girls LAX Shuts Out Tigers

Glen Cove's Marks and Basile lead team to 15-0 win against Hempstead.

Glen Cove High's girls' lacrosse team lit up the scoreboard in both halves yesterday during its 15-0 win against Hempstead High. The team now has a 3-1 conference and overall record.

Led by captains Chelsee Marks (five goals) and Sam Basile (three goals, four assists), Big Red netted 13 goals in the first half and two in the second, while keeping the Tigers scoreless. Goalies Kelsey Giambruno and Amelia Weck also had two saves apiece.

Although it was an easy win for Big Red, head coach Jacqueline Gow said, her girls still played hard in both halves, and were able to work on  their stall and use of non-dominant hand in the second half.
