WCWP is giving away two tickets to an NY Islanders hockey game that benefits a great cause. The Heather Pendergast Fund of Massapequa will be holding “A Night with The Islanders” March 26, 2011 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York.
Catch Max and Matt on WCWP’s The Sportswire on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 6 p.m. when they give away the tickets. A lucky caller will win a pair of tickets to attend the game.
The Heather Pendergast Fund is in honor of Heather Pendergast, who at a young age was diagnosed with Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome (SDS). She was then diagnosed with cancer. Her long battle against the disease was lost on October 30, 2008. The fund is set out to assist volunteer firemen’s children who suffer from life threatening illnesses.

Prior to the start of the game there will be a booth set up outside the rink to make donations or purchase a t-shirt. The proceeds will go to the fund.
The New York Islanders will be playing against The Philadelphia Flyers at 7 p.m.
