Glen Cove Homecoming This Weekend

Big Red to battle Bethpage Golden Eagles Saturday at 6 p.m.; parade at 5:15 p.m.

The Glen Cove School District will celebrate Homecoming 2013 this weekend. Festivities will begin with the annual Pep Rally at Glen Cove High School on Friday afternoon, beginning at 12:50 pm in the gymnasium.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, the Homecoming Parade will commence at Gribbin Elementary School at 5:15 pm. The parade will travel along Walnut Rd. and end on Glen Cove High School’s J.C. Maiden Field.

The GCHS Big Red varsity football team will take the field against the Bethpage High School Golden Eagles. Kickoff is at 6 pm. Just prior to the game, the GCHS Student Senate will be acknowledged for their efforts. The 2013 Homecoming court will be introduced at halftime and a king and queen will be crowned.

The GCHS band, varsity cheerleaders and kickline will also perform. Additionally, the Glen Cove junior football cheerleaders, comprised of students ages 5-14, will give a special performance between the first and second quarters under the tutelage of the varsity cheer.

Ellen Lynch will once again serve as master of ceremonies. This year’s theme is “Kick ‘Em South.” Come out and support the Big Red this weekend against Bethpage and celebrate Glen Cove pride!
