- The debates about the possiblity of extending the term limits of the mayor and council members from two to four years continued this week. City officials encourage all residents to attend the City Council meetings this summer to share their thoughts about this issue. The council's vote whether to add the referendum to the November ballot is expected to take place before or in September. 

- Patch caught up with the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce this week to learn what the organization has coming up this year. Despite the downturn of the econonmy, the chamber's membership has increased and plans for upcoming events are moving forward.

- A Glen Cove man was arrested on the Northern State Parkway on Tuesday after police say he drove his Nissan Pathfinder while he was high on drugs and crashed his front tire into a left traffic lane barrier.
