The Metropolitan catering hall in Glen Cove brought dozens of visitors to the city on Saturday because it was the site of Yes We Can! Long Island's Going Green Conference. The event gave elected officials, activists, experts and residents from Long Island a chance to discuss in an open forum ways to make the Island more environmentally-friendly.

The city capped off the week with a bang on Sunday as it held its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. The Irish pride event attracted thousands of people, who came dressed for the occasion wearing everything from green beards to green kilts. Patch was on the scene to cover all of the festivities of the day and will have full coverage with videos on Monday.
