Oyster Bay Beaches Open Weekends Beginning Saturday

With Memorial Day weekend marking summer’s unofficial start, Town of Oyster Bay residents will be heading to the beach.

Tobay, Centre Island, Philip B. Healey at Florence Avenue and Theodore Roosevelt Memorial Beaches will be opening for weekends only, beginning on Saturday, May 24, officials said. All Town beaches will be open daily beginning June 21.

Beach stickers for entrance to all seven Town of Oyster Bay beaches, will be available to residents at $60.

In appreciation for their service, Town residents who are military veterans or active military members, volunteer firefighters of a department within the Town, auxiliary police and members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary will get a reduced rate of $25. 

Senior citizens, 60 and older, who have a Town Senior Citizen Beach I.D. Card, obtainable at the Town Clerk’s Office for a one-time fee of $30 plus a $2 photo fee, will be able to obtain a beach sticker at no charge.

Disabled Town residents who are receiving disability insurance benefits under the Social Security Act, as well as those who have a permanent disability as certified in writing by a physician, can obtain a free beach sticker after first securing an I.D. card at the Town Clerk’s Office for a one-time fee of $30 plus a $2 photo fee.
