During the week's heat spell, Glen Cove Senior Center became a “cooling center” for those seeking relief from the heat. Some programs were cancelled, while select beaches extended lifeguarding hours. EMS Chief Matt Venturino weighed told us how residents coped.

Free lunches are available for children 18 years and younger who rely on school lunch programs during the academic year. In Glen Cove, the program is available at Robert M. Finley Middle School, 70 Forest Ave.
