Patch Gives Back to Glen Cove

Editor Dana Williams joins traffic control team during city's Cruise Car Night as a participant in Patch's 'Give 5' program.

With help from the Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department and members of the Glen Cove Downtown Business Improvement District, Glen Cove Patch editor Dana Williams was able to lend a helping hand in the city Thursday as a part of Patch's "Give 5" program

The initiative, which is part of an AOL-wide charity Monster Help effort, encourages all Patch employees to donate five days a year volunteering in the communities they serve. Dana spent Thursday evening helping to direct traffic at the city's weekly Cruise Car Night, which runs along Glen and School streets.

The event aims to raise money for the fire department's 175th Anniversary celebration in 2012 as well as attract more patrons to the city's business district.
