Rescued Cats Still Need Homes and Names

While it's been two months since the , the aftermath is still fresh for the hard-working employees and volunteers at the , who continue to care for the animals.

Many of the cats have adjusted to their new, temporary home at the shelter. However, few remain intensely frightened by the change. These particular felines show their contempt by hissing at visitors who come too close to their cage.

A few rescued cats have been given names () who possess very unique personalities. However, many remain without one. Shelter staff hopes to give a name to each one. However, they’re hopeful prospective adoptive families will visit, fall in love with one or more, and give a name to their new companion.

If you are interested in adopting one of these cats, or any other cats or dogs at the Glen Cove Animal Shelter, stop by the shelter or call 516-676-5913.
