Just in case you missed Patch's coverage this week, here is an overview of some of the latest news in Glen Cove.

- Patch spoke with members of the Polish community in Glen Cove earlier this week to get their thoughts about the tragic death of Poland President Lech Kaczyński. The longtime leader of the country was killed in a plane crash on on April 10. Members of the Polish National Home of Glen Cove, along with elected officials in the city, also held a memorial service for all the victims of the crash on April 11. 

 - The Glen Cove City Council approved an agreement with Nassau County on Tuesday, which will allow the Glen Cove Police Department to heighten DWI patrols this summer. The county is slated to reimburse the city $12,000 in exchange for its cooperation with cracking down on DWI offenses.
