The City of Glen Cove will honor Vietnam War vet Howard Stillwagon on Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. in front of the Doughboy Monument next to the Glen Cove Public Library. Schools Closed, Library Closed

City Council Meeting
Tuesday, 7 p.m. at City Hall

Obamacare Seminar
Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Glen Cove Library. The Health Insurance Marketplace is now open for business, meaning uninsured New Yorker’s can now enroll in insurance plans on the State’s new coverage marketplace, New York State of Health. Bring your questions and join us as staff from The Health & Welfare Council of Long Island, a non-profit health and human services planning and advocacy organization, offers an informational presentation on The Health Insurance Marketplace.

Veterans Healthcare Enrollment Event
Thursday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Glen Cove Library. Find out about the new programs which veterans might be eligible for, including: My HealtheVet(VA’s online personal health record designed for veterans, active duty service members, their dependents and caregivers to provide tools to make informed health-related decisions); the Caregiver Support Program (which provides support and assistance for the veteran being cared for as well as those taking care of him or her); and the DAV Transportation Network (which provides free transportation for Veterans to the Northport VA Medical Center and other VA medical centers).
