Cultural events taking place this weeekend.

There are plenty of cultural happenings taking place this weekend. Here are some of the highlights. 

Chamber Music Live presents Beethoven, Beethoven and Beethoven, at LeFrak Concert Hall in Queens, Friday at 10 a.m. To purchase tickets or for more information please call 718-997-3800 or visit the Queens College website.  

Catch the inaugural Trumpeters of Queens show Friday at Flushing Town Hall at 8 p.m. Josh Deutsch brings a set of original music for his energetic quintet, and Miki Hirose showcases music from his latest CD, “Scratch.” $15/$10 – Members and students. 137-35 Northern Blvd, Flushing.

Rita Wilson brings a night of song at this year’s Landmark on Main Street’s Spotlight Gala, on Nov. 9 in Port Washington. Perhaps best know as an actress, (It's Complicated, Sleepless in Seattle, The Good Wife) and a film producer (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Mamma Mia!), Wilson, the wife of Tom Hanks, says she initially aimed to make her name as a musician. Her debut album “AM/FM” features what organizers describe as an "intimate and beautifully sung collection of classics from the 60s and 70s that together make up the soundtrack to her life." Visit at Sands Point Preserve Saturday, from 2-3 p.m., for a Wurlitzer Opus 442 Organ concert by Alan Lush and discussion by Tom Stehle. On Sunday, 2-3 p.m. Youth Chamber Music Ensembles under the direction of Anthony Pinelli and Dr. Yeou-Cheng Ma. And through Nov. 24, Friends of the Sands Point Preserve presents Titans of Business & the Best of Design” – a design show house at historic Hempstead House.

The Amphion String Quartet performs Sunday at 3 p.m. at Tilles Center. The quartet will perform Beethoven: “Quartet for Strings, Opus 18, No. 3; Mendelssohn: “Quartet for Strings, Opus 13; Schubert “The Trout” Qunitet for Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass. Tickets $43. Learn more
