Streisand Tribute, Beethoven, and Oysters

Weekend happenings around the region.

From Ann Hampton Callaway paying tribute to Barbra Streisand to the popular Oyster Festival, there are plenty of happenings in the region this weekend. Here are some of the highlights. 

The 30th annual Oyster Festival is this Saturday and Sunday along the waterfront of historic Oyster Bay. You’ll find an abundance of food offerings to boat tours, carnival rides and craft fairs. The outdoor waterfront festival draws thousands of people, some of whom arrive via special LIRR trains to Oyster Bay Station. Learn more. 

The  Horszowski Trio performs live chamber music featuring plenty of Beethoven at the Kupferberg Center for the Arts. 65-30 Kissena Boulevard. Flushing. There’s a Full Moon Drumming Workshop at Flushing Town Hall. Celebrate the Harvest Moon with a drum circle under a full moon in Flushing Town Hall’s beautiful garden with master drummers from the Colombian and Korean traditions.
