Hometown: West Hempstead, NY
Twitter: @NassauPatch
Birthday: 03/03/1987
Bio: Born and raised in West Hempstead, I have lived on Long Island my whole life. I graduated from Binghamton University in May of 2009 with a degree in English.
In October 2010, I became the new local editor for Bellmore Patch! After nearly 10 months of getting to know the town of Bellmore, I was promoted to Associate Regional Editor for the South Shore of Nassau County.
I joined Patch (Port Washington) in April 2010 as a sports writer. In May 2010 I transitioned from sports to business, politics, schools, and other issues featured on Patch.
In early July 2010 I began writing for the Huntington Patch and covered everything from school closings to zoning issues in my time there. There were a lot of hot issues in Huntington and I had the privilege of getting the scoop on most of them.
I have had my work featured on the Port Washington, Huntington, Massapequa, Smithtown, Bellmore, and Garden City Patch sites.
I enjoy playing sports and enjoy watching them just as much. I am a big-time hockey enthusiast and a die-hard Buffalo Sabres fan -- if I were coaching the team, they would have won the Stanley Cup for the last three seasons (I'm just saying).
Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.
Politics
How would you describe your political beliefs? I am as Moderate as it gets. I lean one way on certain issues, and the opposite way on others.
Are you registered with a certain party? No.
Religion
How religious would you consider yourself? Casual. I am a Catholic, but I am not very religious. However, I have absolutely nothing against religion and I feel it is an important part of daily life for many people!
